Disaster Dinner

So last night I was making Food and Whine's Teriyaki Lime Glazed Pork. They used a Pork Tenderloin, I used a Loin Roast. Of course I adjusted the cooking time... but unfortunately my 6pm dinner turned into 7pm dinner. Not really sure why it took an extra hour to cook properly, but I was pretty upset to say the least!!! *No pictures... by the time it was ready I was too hungry!!!* Thank goodness I made my special "Japanese Salad" which my kids absolutely adore! They ate an entire cereal bowl each!!! My husband also ended up working late last night... for that I was thankful... there is no pressure worse than "is it ready yet" from your main squeeze. ;)
Today - LEFT OVERS! The kids didn't get to eat any of it last night, so I suppose we'll finish it up today. Instead of working all day on dinner, I will be searching for the perfect birthday cake to make my parents. Their birthdays are 6 days apart and this year I'm going to make one beautiful cake instead of worrying about two. I am taking the day off from worrying about Playschool (Im the secretary for my sons's soon-to-be Preschool), Charity paperwork (the Preschool is going to try to get their registered Charity status), and all the other blah blah blah... Let the search begin... :D

Ryann's 6th Birthday Rainbow Cake

It wouldn't let me add a picture to my last blog... but I wanted to add a picture of the cake! I wish I had cleaned up the plate a bit before taking the picture!!! Next time I know better :)

Cooking

I am offically addicted to stalking food bloggers!!!!!
My newest obsession is Food & Whine (www.foodwhine.com). She has an amazing food website that I have made a few items from already. Tonight we are having the Teriyaki Lime Glazed Pork! YUM YUM!!! My family has really enjoyed trying new things and stearing away from our "same ol-same ol".
I really have to thank Pinterest for all of this! I really started because of Ryann's upcoming 6th Birthday Party (which was March 1st). I was looking for something fun to do for her cake. I came across Whisk Kid's Rainbow Cake... O M GEEE!!! The most difficult cake I have made, not because it was complicated, but because it was time consuming! 6 differently colored layers (and I only had two round cake pans...), plus making Lemony Swiss Meringue Buttercream icing which took quite a bit of work. However, when all was said and done - and the first slice came out it was SO WORTH EVERY MINUTE!!! The look on everyone's face... priceless. I felt like a superstar! (recipe is located here: http://www.whisk-kid.com/2009/08/say-it-with-cake.html)
I think Im going to give this blog thing another shot... I won't be blogging my own recipies, but I'll repost others that we have enjoyed. :D
Ta-Ta for now!

I was right... there were straws all over my kitchen. I love my kids! lol
Wow!! I almost forgot this existed! I guess its been a VERY long time since I blogged...
Long long story short... since I last wrote:
We moved into a new house - still in Edosn.
We have a son! His name is Landon Alexander and he was born September 26, 2009.
Brendan still works for Tarpon & I still stay at home.
... for nearly 3 years of missed blogs, that really seems like nothing is new. :(

I think I'm going to start blogging more often. For my friends that live away from us, it will give me a change to make posts that you can all see! With pictures included.

My house is really quiet, something bad must be going on upstairs! ...
